"Look at those fools" I mumble. Taking the last sip of sake from my near empty cup, I wonder how the other members of my clan could ever grow into mature warriors. \n "Captain Keisuke Takamoto, why don't you join the party? You've earned it" I look up from the table to see my overly ecstatic lieutenant. A bottle of sake in his right hand, I notice him swaying from the alcoholic beverage. \n "Don't go overboard, you have to practice your sword skills early tomorrow morning. I'm going to get some fresh air" I say in a frosty reply to shrug off his cheery mood. Drowning in irritation from negative self-inflicted thoughts, I set out of my favourite tavern, The Bengel, into the brisk light of a full moon. Putting on my Sakat and robe, I head towards my final stop of the night, my younger sister's grave. \n My father was a great samurai for the emperor and taught me the way of the sword. On the frightful eve of spring, my father rebelled against the emperor's command to burn our hometown for increased industrial expansion because there wasn't any justification to do so. At that time, the empire was well in the surplus and there was no need for furthering our resources. The wind feels as cold as that night, but for some reason it has some claming aura to it.\n "Don't move" within an instant, I feel the edge of a shuriken (kunai) at my throat and a hand restraining me from grasping my sword. \n\n* <<choice "Attempt to Repel the Hidden Attacker">>\n* <<choice "Try to Talk to the Hidden Attacker">>
"I need something to be delivered" says the soft voice. Considering that the voice wasn't coarse, I deduce that it was not a male's voice. With that in mind, I believe I could overpower my way out of the situation. \n "Oh really?" I reply hesitantly. Before she could answer, I elbow her in the stomach, weakening her grip and giving me the opportunity to quickly side step my way out of her grasp. Unfortunately for me, dozens of dark clothed shadows appear in an instant. They give me no opening to launch an offensive and if I tried, I knew I would not be able to come out walking, let alone alive.
Considering my options, coupled with the fact that I'm a bit tipsy, it wasn't looking all too well for me. I could hear multiple footsteps moving around, so I know that this sneak attack was not a solo mission. \n "We, I mean, my master requests that you <<mask 'Deliver the Package' 'deliver this package'>>" my captor says, her voice breaking the eerie silence. From the tone, I have strong reason to believe that it was a female and it was her first mission, or at least first to command one. \n "Why did you chose me?" I ask as I try to bide some time for an opportunity to flee this unfavourable situation.
"It looks like there is something on your shoulders" the female assassin says as her lips curled up into a small smirk. I am quite irritated at how my situation has turned out, but I can do nothing but let karma take its path. With my silence, she must have felt she was being ignored. She was right. Within a few moments, she snaps her fingers and obtains a scroll from a solider that instantly appears and disappears with the shadows. "This" she proclaims, "this is what you need to deliver to the hidden village of Kotaku". \n Puzzled, I ask "Why me? Of all people, surely there must be someone more qualified". There was no response. Perhaps it was retribution from before. \n "Whatever my master says, I will follow. You do as I say, or your fellow comrades will die." \n "Prove it" I exclaimed. She handed a note to me with the word "Help" written in blood. It isn't the bloody text that convinced me, it is the fabric and badge that was attached - my lieutenant's. Before I could reply, I am hit in the back of <<mask 'The New Frontier' 'my head and lose consciousness'>>.
Waking up to the bright morning sun, I see this weird, yet beautifully crafted wood sculpture with a note saying, "You'll need this for your trip." I know what I just experienced wasn't a dream. I also can't leave my comrades die in vain, but how will I find this hidden village they were talking about? This is a big town, so I'll just go where there might be a lot of people

"What are you talking about? I don't owe you money, you damned woman!" a poorly dressed man roars at a beautiful woman as he stands up. If my eyes are aren't deceiving me, she appears older than me, but it doesn't show. \n "So who is the woman?" I ask the head chef as I stand in the front. \n "Oh, herư" the chef begins. He sighs as if he has heard this before and bending closer to me he continues, "she's the mama of the local massage parlor. It's pretty rare to see her come out of that place." Given the type of occupation she has, it is obvious she knows what happens in the shadows of this town. \n\n* <<choice "Follow Her">>\n* <<choice "Directly Ask to Speak in a More Quiet Environment">>
This place is too public for me. I'll follow her once she leaves this place. In the meantime I call out to the waiter, "sir! I would like another round of noodles." As I turn around, I notice that she is gone. That woman is going to be trouble, she has already made me lose a bowl of ramen. As I rush out, I am fortunate that the street isn't as lively as it usually is. The woman quickly takes a turn onto the main street. As a continue to follow this woman, she takes a sharp turn into an alley. \n To my dismay, she knows she is being followed. Like an insect that falls prey to a spider's web, I know I am in trouble, again. I realize she isn't alone as 5 taller figures begin to approach me. \n "I'm just making my way through this town. There's nothing wrong with that" I attempt to explain. \n "We know you were following her, so don't give us any excuses" says one of the thugs. I know I can't talk my way out with this group of thugs. Before any of the other of them spoke, I ready my sword. \n "I don't like his face" says who I assume is their leader as a fist is launched toward my face. In that split second, that hand departs its body. That is the only blow I can deal. I cannot fend myself and am <<mask "Immobilized" "left unconscious">> after their savage beating.
I wake up in a strange place. A man walks in, "You're finally awake. I'm Doctor Cid" says the rather lanky old man. "I'm sorry to be the one to say this, but you are paralyzed from the shoulders."
