Conclusion

My experience on the Internet is distinct and unique to someone else’s experience, a fundamental aspect to the Internet and how we represent ourselves is critical. Identity in an information based society is very important and how we distinguish our digital selves is integral for global communication. The method of broadcasting ourselves is the core to how we properly represent ourselves to ensure the integrity of how others perceive ourselves. The Internet is a personal experience that is difficult to share, creating an early vulnerability to newcomers without prior education on protecting themselves on the Internet. While experienced users withhold the ability to utilize technology and software to be fully represent their (false) personas. Identity on the Internet proves, on its basic principles, that creation of Identity belongs to its creator and has little intervention by institutions or infrastructure.
